I think this argument will be based on statistics. I feel statistics can be read in whatever way the experimenter would like in order to prove their point. I feel that even though we talk about ethics with statistics they really don't exist. I do feel that critically thinking and fact checking is very important with any issue. I too have heard of studies done that show that countries that have band owning guns have higher crime rates. I do not know how I would verify that. I have also heard that countries with stiffer penalties have lower crime rates. Ill throw my vote in for that one! Cut off the hand!
